Why should I recycle computers
and electronics? For commercial entities, Colorado
State Law requires computer and electronic equipment be treated
as hazardous waste once it is retired. Electronics contain
hazardous materials such as lead, cadmium, broken glass and
mercury which can leach into water supplies if not disposed
of properly. We are aware that these machines may contain
sensitive data and it is handled accordingly so that this
data will be unrecoverable.
What do you recycle?
We accept all office equipment including, but not limited
to, printers, computers, monitors, fax machines and desk top
copiers. If you see something you are interested in getting
rid of, just give us a call and ask if we can take it.
What will you do with my equipment
once you pick it up? Your equipment will come back
to our facility where we strip down any printers for their
parts. Then it is all loaded up and hauled off to a recycling
center that has the capability to wipe data clean and destroy
hard drives. They are even used by the federal government
for disposal of computers for their heavy security needs!
How do I make sure the security
of my data is not compromised? If someone would like
to recycle computers we are very respectful of the privacy
of data. WE WILL NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR DATA. As was mentioned
before, your printers will be stripped for parts at our facility,
but computers will be hauled to a recycling center that has
the capability to wipe data clean and destroy hard drives.
They are bonded and insured and are used by the federal government
for disposal of THEIR computers due to their complete commitment
to data security.
Does it cost anything? Why do you charge a fee?
We are charging for our time and labor to handle the equipment
as well as to cover the cost of the recycling process. We
are charged a straight fee per unit we bring in, and that
varies based on the type of machine, weight, etc. We are providing
a service so that you don’t have to spend time finding
someone to take your equipment away. It augments our service
to you, our customer, so you can forget about the headaches
of what to do with the old equipment. It also shields you
from the liabilities and costs associated with improper disposal
of electronic waste.
